Episode 2 - An evening with John Nussbaum
The audio is a little rough on this episode. We’re still trying to work some of the kinks out of the process. By we I mean me and the vast resource that is the internet. If you have any tips let me know.
This interview was recorded at Goodby Silverstein & Partners. If you listen carefully, over the scratchy audio you can hear the trolley and even the bells at Saint Mary’s Cathedral. I forgot to thank John in the actual recording. I hope this will do.
Thanks John.

Hey John! This is more of a logistic question, do agencies normally conduct interviews to applicants out of state? I mean, if you have to fly all the way to NY for example for a job you might not even get.. I was just wondering if there is some bargaining leverage there somewhere, like a guarantee at least.

I’m not sure if John is going to reply to this, but I have been asking around for you. The answer I have been getting is ‘Yes’.
What I’ve been hearing is, if an agency likes your book, and it makes it to a short list of possible hires, they will often fly you out for the interview. This of course depends on the size of the company, how good your book is and the size of the recent account they landed.
